Abstract

Ecclesiastic local institutions and high-medieval settlement of Izagaondoa valley are analyzed in this study with the help of historical hagionimy. This land, which became intensely Romanized, had a continuous settlement proved by an early and dense local churches and monasteries  establishment. The first local churches appeared about V and VI century, and monasteries in VIII century. Izagaondoa valley is a fantastic place to make this kind of analysis and it is a paradigmatic example of the evolution of navarrese late antique and high-medieval christianity.
