Abstract

Tomás Carrascón de las Cortes y Medrano was the author of “Carrascón”. Born towards the end of the XVI century in Cintruénigo (Navarra), Tomás studied at the University of Salamanca. He later entered the Order of San Agustín and continued his studies at the Convent that the Order had on the outskirts of the city of Burgos. While there, his religious thought underwent a conversion and Tomás went to England, where he offered his intellectual services to James I. With no detriment to his own personal values, he lent his talent to the defence of Protestantism.
