Una obra del médico tudelano Francisco de Sayas y Bastida
Abstract
Tentativae complutensis, eruditissimi doctoris Emanuelis Martinez... Resumpta per Franciscum de Sayas, et Bastida... – Pompelonae: ex Officina Dominici de Berdala..., 1690. An unknown work. It is the mere rewriting of the dissertation Manuel Martínez, later a Doctor and Professor at the University of Alcalá, presented to obtain his bachelor’s degree. The author of the new book and, therefore, of the new Tentativae, is Francisco de Sayas and Bastida, a student at the same University, where he got later a Doctorate. Sayas limits himself to reflect closely the ideas of Martinez and other famous Alcalá professors, all of them speculative commentators of the old medical ideas coming from Galen, Hipócrates, Avicena and Aristotle. It is therefore a imitative and retrogresive work...
