Abstract

The register now classified in the Archivio Storico del Comune di Palermo as Carte Varie, 1, a. 1345, offers, besides its main subject (the accounts presented by Bartolomeo Nini, treasurer of the city in 1344-1345, to be controlled), a considerable amount of significant news on the urban life of the period, its makers and its protagonists, and on the political, financial and cultural initiatives of the Universitas. On analysing, in particular, the financial aspects, are revealed the needs, lacks and political conditionings of the selection of mutuatores.
