Libro de los Estatutos Antiguos de la Orden de San Juan

Abstract

In addition to a short introductory study, this article offers the transcript of a codex concerning the rule and the statutes of the Hospital de San Juan de Jerusalén, found in the Section of Military Orders in the National History Archive. Highly regular in terms of style, the codex is written in Occitan with Gascon influences. This Hospital Rule consists of 19 chapters and was most probably written to complete other previous manuscripts.
