Abstract

In the course of my work on the guilds of Santiago in Navarra, I stated that one of them was already present in the 13th century in the old Dominican convent beside the city wall castle. Subsequently, some documents were found in the San Lorenzo Parish Archive that speak of a “Guild of Santa Ma-ria and San Jamen” that I identify with the former, since in the aforementio-ned documents repeated mention is made to Santiago of Galicia and to the Dominican fathers, where the guilds maintained their altar, their chaplain and their worship.
