Acciones bélicas en Navarra: La frontera de los malhecheros (1321-1335)

Abstract

The border betwen the kigndom of Navarre and the present province of Guipuzcoa was from 1200 a source of problems caused by highwaymen. The royal navarresse officials, the merinos, where the men in charge of arresting the criminals and the “hidalgos oñacinos” whi were in border territories. In the present study troops recruitement by merinos are studied and their composition, thanks to the fact that we have the acounts of some expeditions which advanced into Guipuzcoa between 1320 and 1335.
