La "Disertación Chirúrgico-Apologética" de Fermín Ochoa. Aspectos de medicina legal y cirugía en Navarra a finales del siglo XVIII
Abstract
At the end of the 18th century, a surgeon was accused of having killed a carver. His only defence would lie in rejecting the accusing report, which other surgeons had worked on, after examining the corpse several times. So, he would write a large report where he said, not only that he was not the one who caused the sculptor’s death, but also that his own colleagues could have been the perpetrators. The study of his report allows us to approach to the profession at that time. We can find authors and books that were the reference for those professionals, methods, clinical cases and very interesting comments related to sanitation of the time.
