Abstract
In order to know which poets impressed Ángel Mz. B. (Lodosa 1899-Managua 1971), we go through his letters. He evaluates the key authors. He keeps an eye on G. M. Hopkins, in his “hard” moments. He liked J. R. Jiménez; he did pure poetry; empty art is not enough. He is in tune with the heartfelt, flowing Rosales; the strength León Felipe. His culture proceeds “from Homer”. He read tragedy authors and latin poets; Horace above all. He admired the fine cataloniens Maragall, Bertrán. Ángel overflows his “river”. For him Dante is the paramount architect of poetry. F.
