Abstract
The collection of the Museo Universidad de Navarra has its origins in the donation that the photographer José Ortiz Echagüe made to the University of Navarra of all his work in 1981, after which the University considered the creation of a collection of Spanish photography that would include the history of this medium from its origins to the present day. Subsequently, in 2008, the collector María Josefa Huarte donated her collection of contemporary art, with the condition of building a museum. The Museum collection is articulated around three fundamental axes: conservation, promotion and research in contemporary art and photography, with the mentality of a research center for the arts.
