Abstract

The following document explains the importance of both the House-Museum and the Julián Gayarre Foundation, in preserving and promoting the figure of the Roncalese tenor, two fundamental pieces for the survival of his memory and heritage. The love and pride that Gayarre felt for his town and its residents are evident after exploring the local streets and visiting the various exhibitions – permanent and temporary micro-exhibitions – found on the three floors of his museum. This space allows us to observe and learn not only about the artist and his interesting and busy life for the time, but also about other facets such as his personality, his character, his ideology and lifestyle. A memory that would otherwise have been forgotten.
