Abstract

An analysis of architectural culture in the Renaissance of Navarre evidences the knowledge of the artists who worked on this land of classical treatises, with constant references to Vitruvius, Alberti or Peter Cataneo.These treaties were handled by craftsmen with a didactic purpose, as well as engravings illustrating the books printed at the time, sheets that show masters interesting patterns in using Renaissance ornamental repertoire. Thus, the management of the Roman measures of Diego de Sagredo (1526) is reflected in the architectural design of the facades as the parishes of Caseda, Aibar or Los Arcos, the use of the third and fourth books of Architecture of Serlio (1552) in the facade of the Hospital of Our Lady of Mercy of Pamplona...
