Abstract

In the fall of 1994, Zuazua-Wegener family gave to the Museo de Navarra a roman cornucopie in white marble that have been found –together with roman pottery and a coin of the reign of Tiberius– in a small settlement in the West part of the ancient territory of the roman city that was situated by the river Onsella valley: Campo Real/Fillera between current municipalities of Sos del Rey Catolico (Zaragoza) and Sanguesa (Navarra). The paper deals with the characterisation of the sculpture from an archaeological, iconographical and geological perspective. The information provided by the cornucopie is presented here, also, for a better understanding of the romanization process in the East part of Navarra –and its neighbour region in Aragon: Cinco...
