Abstract
This paper forms a part of a wide study we are carrying out in music education in Navarrese schools during the second half of 19th century. The culture of a society has one of its genuine expressions in its educational system. The incorporation of music in the school curriculum implies a basic fact which permits us to interpret a small part of Navarrese society in the 19th century. The main aim of this article is to determine, briefly, the most significant attempts, directed towards the implementation of music at schools in Navarra during the second half of 19th century.
