Abstract

The aim of this this paper in to analyze the cemetery from the funnerary culture, the history and art at the Navarrian cemetery of Bera de Bidasoa. Among all the cemeteries of the region of Cinco Villas the beratarrian is the most interesting one due to the funerary monuments it houses. So, in this presentation I will try to tackle briefly the funerary tradition in the town, the creation of its Cementerio de San Martin and the works of artistic interest in it clasifiyng such monuments in three sections, namely: Chapel Mausoleums, Mausoleums, and Ornated graves. Likewise I will try to talk about the sculptor Tomas Altuna, a guipuzcoan artist who left pieces of its artistic work in the graveyard...
