Abstract

The Jewish communities lived in Navarre since the High Middle Ages (IX-XIth centuries) and our knowledge about them came from written sources. Archaeological research in Navarre has brought invaluable information about this community and his way of life. This paper presents the results of two archaeological projects developed by Navark S.L. in the ancient Jewries of Estella-Lizarra and Pamplona that had allowed us to acquire first hand information about Navarre’s Jewish communities and its religion items. The most characteristic of them were the ritual lamps called hanukiya and the purpose of this paper is the study of two of them.
