Abstract

After the conquest, the kingdom of Navarra became a fundamental piece for the security and defense of Castilla against the threat, always permanent, of the French enemy. To this the distrust of some real officials is added towards the fidelity of the navarros after its incorporation. Therefore, Navarra welcomed in its territory an important permanent, or seasonal number of troops either. This presence of soldiers gave rise to this institutions of the kingdom tried to guard by the protection of their natural ones, through the publication of diverse laws. This did not prevent, nevertheless, that took place tension and that existed a distrust towards the soldier or by his treatment towards the navarros, or by its behavior.
