Abstract

In 1525-1526 there was a trial against a nobleman from Puente la Reina called Juan Navarro or Navarrico. Its historiographical interest is because of four important aspects: this trial illustrates the cases not included in Hondarribia’s amnesty (1523) and Charles V’s amnesty. It shows how the supporters of the Albret’s kings were rigorously sentenced. We find Navarro in the most important battles of the conquest of Navarre (Noáin, Amaiur and Hondarribia). And, finally, this judicial proceeding informs about the job of Martin de Azpilcueta the Oldest as commissioner of the Royal Council of Navarre in a trial against a protector of agramont’s.
