Abstract

This communication is entended to present information about the leading role played in the Court by a group of women born in the rural Valley of Baztan (Navarra) in the period known as «la hora navarra del XVIII" (The hour of Navarra in the XVIII century). Coming from humble households, they were promoted to high places in the court, were they were praised for their strength of mind, religiosity, moral values and broad generosity. Even if they got great social influence, they kept tight bonds with their valley family. They helped them, not only in an economical way. All of this brought progress and social development contributed to achieve stability and permanence to their house.
