Abstract

Considered by many a provincial town, Pamplona, like most of the European cities, assists from 1860 to a progressive development of photographic establishments, thanks to the new interest on the phenomenom of photography. In Pamplona, most of this studios were located at the Plaza of the Constitution, at the downtown, the space of major dynamism and commercial activity of the city. In this article we try an approximation to the reality of these establishments, the photographers who managed them, and a study of the photographic work that they carried out, within the influences of photography worldwide.
