Abstract

The article treats of the thorny reorganization the of navarre javierismo during the fifties. After the previous stage of inaction and opposition to the regime, Francisco Javier Astráin, as new regional chief, tried to follow the collaborationists guidelines marked from Madrid by Jose María Valiente. Octavistas and rodeznistas thad been debilitated, a new fight started against juanistas and sivattistas. The political confusion that these divisions caused, the stubborn lack of leadership of Javier de Borbón Parma’s and the consolidation of Franco’s regime, progressively moved the masses away from carlism.
