Abstract

The work of the Navarrese artist Dora Salazar (Alsasua, 1963) shows an early interest for the constructive processes of recycling. This study, which spreads from the beginning of the 80s until 1994, shows the principal plastic features in order to focus her production during this period. These features get in touch with the objectual art, specially from the assemblage, as well as with the principal proposals of numerous British sculptors, many of them related to the St. Martin’s School of Art of London. Dora Salazar’s creative bet has moved from the figurative guidelines generated from chairs, wheels of bicycles and tins, to all kinds of abstract manifestations, many of her plastic approaches leading to real movement and light presence.
