Abstract

The Spanish painter Eduardo Carceller was born in Valencia in 1843. He attended San Carlos Art School at his home town and was educated in the fine arts there. In 1870 he moved to Navarre to teach in the village of Tudela. In 1874 he settled in Pamplona and took charge of its Art School, where he remained until 1895. At that time he started teaching at Pamplona Secondary School, where he worked until he retired in 1918. He died in Pamplona in 1925. He practiced oil painting and aquarelle, with historical themes, portraits, religious subjects, works on local customs and great masters’ copies.
