Abstract

The group of representatives from Navarre and the Basque Country in the Parliament of the Spanish Republic during the biennium 1931-1933, which was composed of Basque nationalists, traditionalists and independent Catholics, showed in various ways its rejection to the interim committees imposed on April 1931 by the Government of the Republic for the Provincial Governments of Navarre and the Basque Country (Diputaciones forales), and repeatedly asked for them to be democratically elected.
