Abstract

The lack of late antique and early medieval documentation makes necessary to analyze the system of own churches in Navarre through the temples’ saintsnames that reflect the chronology of their creation. The navarrese territory participated in this reality at an early age. In the High Middle Ages, the own churches gave way to the parish churches. We will focus on a particular case, Puente la Reina, whose municipality consists of diverse segregated populations of Valdizarbe. As a frank town, it is very interesting to observe the creation of new parish churches with invocations related to the Jacobean phenomenon.
