Abstract

Clemencia, born princess of the house of Anjou, kings´ of Hungary daughter and sister, was the second queen consort that never came to Navarre. Moreover, she was the second wife of Luis I “el Hutín”, the last of the France-Navarre kings who swore the fueros in his peninsular states. Her physical absence and the lack of documents signed by her refering to the little kingdom, put her in a nominal place among the queens of Navarre. The analysis of french and pontifical records allow us to give a richer image of Clemencia of Hungary and follow her steps until her death in 1328, after a turbulent widowhood between luxury and debts. In this paper I want to show two relevant documents published during the 18th and 19th centuries, and unknown in Navarre until today: her will and the inventory and auction of her personal properties.
