Abstract

This study focuses on the origin of Navarra’s urban development, considering that urban centres are those that have received a communal chart. The territory attended here has been broaden, reaching from the Adour river to the Ebro valley. This perspective takes into account that the links of mobility and exchanges, and the crossing of influences (in both senses) are especially relevant, both in this context and in this chronology. The relation between the gascon urban centres and their political authorities, particularly those of Bearn, it’s revealing for the analysis of the situation in the other side of the Pyrenees.
