Abstract

At the end of the 13th century, the Kingdom of Navarre underwent a period of instability marked by an absent royalty. Facing this situation, Tudela begins to show an apparently well differentiated behavior from large part of the initiatives driven by of the rest of the Kingdom and, in particular, of the urban groups and their fraternities. This essay is focused on the study of the social and political context in the city of Tudela, apart from elucidate, from the available documentation, who held the municipal courts and what kind of relationship they had among themselves, trying to establish who formed part of Tudela’s oligarchy.
