Abstract
Narrative of events became the most recurring way to transmit news of all kinds during the Siglo de Oro. Its success was remarkable among the Spanish Society of the period 1640-1650, due to the difficult political situation the Monarchy was facing. In that context was born the text of Martín de Labayen, published in Pamplona in 1647, in wich he reported Catalonia was making progress against the French, and also of the situation in Naples, Milan and Flanders.
