Abstract

Throughout history Navarre’s land property rights were changing due to social preassure or, in other cases, by the complex judicial structure responsible for the laws, codes, rules and title deed. In this article, it is analyzed what happened in a village of the middle range of Navarre in which el Conde de Lerín and la Casa de Alba found their bastion during the privatisation of properties. In some cases, social preassure acquired land’s distribution-sharing although modifying some of the title deed´s requirement. However, when it was not possible to achieve it, social preassure had to demarcate at the Courts which property rights belong to the owner of the land and which others to village residents.
