Abstract

In a critical dialogue with some recent books, the author writes the first history of socialism in Navarre, from 1973 on, narrating his personal experiences, and using information from contemporary witnesses, archives and journals of the time: The restructuring of PSOE and UGT; the first dramatic events of UGT and of the Socialist Youth; the ideology and actions of the first Socialists after ther restructuration; the first Socialist Group of Navarre, also called Navarrese Socialist Federation; its presence in the Congresses in Madrid (1976) and Igueldo (1977) and its integration into the new Basque party PSE-PSOE.
