La externalización de los archivos municipales: de la producción a la difusión [Outsourcing in the municipal archives: from documentary production to distribution]

Abstract

The archiving service is key to the smooth running of any organisation. A good filing system is needed in order to control every phase of record management, from production through to storage or disposal. In order to arrive at such a system, correct planning is required and the projects in which the plans are substantiated need to be conducted efficiently. Given its characteristics, local government has resorted to outsourcing some of the activities involved in the service. This article analyses which phases, in practice, have traditionally been outsourced by Navarre’s local councils, to what extent and the results obtained.
