Abstract

Since its inception photography has been an effective resource for capturing and transmitting the essence of the represented scene; this ability increases in the case of the oldest photographic testimonies. This consideration has fostered the interest to study and know the historical evolution of the phenomenon both at a general and local level. Although lately we have made a lot of progress and we have a quite complete vision of the Navarre panorama, it is necessary to recognize that, given its singularity, in the field of amateur photography there are still some gaps. This article, which deals mainly with the figure of Jesús Martínez Gorraiz, intends to be a small contribution in that sense.
