Emblemática italiana en un sermón en la Compañía de María (Tudela, 1745) [Italian Emblematic Literature in a Sermon at de Company of Mary (Tudela, 1745)]
Abstract
The Church of the Company of Mary in Tudela hosted in 1745 the religious profession of the Mexican María Ignacia Azlor and her cousin Ana María de Torres. For this reason, the Cistercian Isidoro Francisco Andrés pronounced a Doctrinal Prayer taken to the press by the Marquis of Camporreal and dedicated to the Duchess of Granada de Ega. This paper analyzes the ceremonial framework, the personality of the preacher and the sermon of Tudela, among whose sources are the emblematic books of Pierio Valeriano, Vincenzo Cartari and Filippo Picinelli. Its repeated use in the context of the homiletic production of Isidoro Andrés lead us to conclude that the three books belonged to his personal library.
