Las mujeres en Navarra y los indicadores de género. Análisis conceptual y metodológico [Women in Navarre and gender indicators. Conceptual and methodological analysis]

Abstract

Gender indicators are a methodology developed to have a single unit of measure comparing the situation of women and men using different kinds of variable. Beginning with a reflection about the meanings of the word gender, we present the gender indicators developed by the IEN (Navarra) and carry out an analysis of the situation of women in Navarra. The objective is to give value to this method that allows a holistic view of the complex and transversal reality that the gender perspective take into account, as well as the complementarity of this method with other kind of studies.
