Vivir de la frontera. La prohibición de comercio con Francia en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII [Living from the border. The trade ban with France in the second half of the 17th century]
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze how trade bans with France affected to navarrese people in a context of war between Spanish Monarchy and France and how were mediated the negotiations between the kingdom of Navarre and the Court in order to raise the blockade off this situation. Studying the complaints of border populations, which pursued the economical reactivating, we also want to underline a change in the negotiations from conciliatory positions defended by permanent agents in the Court to intense debates managed by legates sent from Pamplona.
