Unión General de Trabajadores de Navarra. Los primeros pasos de un sindicato nuevo (1974-1978) [Unión General de Trabajadores de Navarra. The first steps of a new union (1974-1978)]
Abstract
This paper outlines the beginnings of the UGT de Navarra since its establishment in 1974. The union was not significantly present in the Navarrese labour movement until mid-1977. Nevertheless, it saw great internal political and ideological debates, especially following the entry of militants from Liga Comunista (LC). Two large blocks could be distinguished in UGT de Navarra: a homogeneous one made up of people linked to the provincial leadership of PSOE in Navarre and a heterogeneous one formed by militants from LC, people expelled from PSOE and members critical of the provincial leadership of the party.
