Los Tàpies del Museo Universidad de Navarra: EL estilo como frontera entre lo internacional y lo identitario [The University Museum of Navarra’s works by Tàpies: the style as a border between internationalism and identity]
Abstract
The donation of Maria Josefa Huarte’s art collection, and the subsequent opening of the University of Navarra Museum to the public, implies the increasing of Navarre cultural heritage as well as the continuous accessibility for the public of a room in the Museum devoted to the Catalonian painter Antoni Tàpies. This paper addresses the new possibilities of investigation, interpretation and reception that derive from this fact, from the type of collecting and the historical context that propitiated the works to be gathered and exhibited in Pamplona, to the prevalence of plastic values above ideological or political ones that the disposition of the works and the new publics put at stake.
