Abstract

Julio Caro Baroja approached history from the perspective and training of an ethnologist and anthropologist. His books on moriscos, judeoconversos or sorceresses approached these subjects on a new way. This text reviews the contribution of two of his books to the knowledge of the History of Navarre. La hora navarra del XVIII (1969) had a great impact, as the development of further investigations on the matter demonstrates. Etnografía histórica de Navarra (1971) did not have the same repercussion, although it included some important intuitions that stand out.
