Une étymologie du mot basque bildots
Abstract
The words oilam usseam in the Lusitanian inscription of the Cabeço das Frágoas have been interpreted by Antonio Tovar as "one-year-old sheep". This explanation can be the basis of the etymology of the Basque bildots "lamb". The only problem is the question why the -l- of oila- has developed into the Basque -ld-.
