Abstract
Research on the fieldwork expeditions and the ethnographic and oral literature works carried out by Gustav and Marisa Rey-Henningsen in Galicia. Comparison with the research carried out by Spanish ethnographers over the same years; and with that carried out by foreign ethnographers who came to Spain. The concept of «matriarchy» applied by Marisa Rey-Henningsen to the traditional culture and folk tales of Galicia is analysed.
