Revisiting the influences received by Basiano

Abstract

A review is offered of approaches until now maintained on the influences received by the painter Jesús Basiano Martínez Pérez “Basiano” (Murchante, Navarra 1889-Pamplona 1966) during the process of its training, specifically those coming from the basque paintings (Regoyos), of its Valencian teachers in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando (Garnelo, Muñoz Degrain and Pla) and of Chicharro in Rome. Likewise, his painting style is explained, close in some of his works to the abstract expressionism.
