Abstract

Fortún Sanchez is one of the most important magnates who existed in the kingdom of Pamplona, during the first half of the XI century. Nevertheless, it is not much what is known either of he or the historical basis of what has been written over of him or about the principal knights who accompanied the kings of Pamplona in this epoch, or of how their corresponding possessions were organized. That is the reason why the sieve of more than one hundred of contemporary documents, in which Fortún Sánchez appears, provides interesting information about the reliability of the above mentioned documentation and of what has come publishing from it about Fortún Sánchez, Nájera’s possession...
