Aibar, del fuero de unificación de pechas (finales del siglo XII) a la hidalguía colectiva (1397)
Abstract
In a process which took place for was taking place for more than two centuries (XII-XIV) the peasants from the Navarre village of Aibar changed their social and legal status of servitude into collective nobility. This change was possible due to the impulse of a social minority who knew how to take its own benefit from the modernization of the kingdom's institutions, as well as from its social and political evolution. On the process, this leading elite was able to involve all the population and to become a self-interested interpreter of the common will.
