Abstract

The proximity between Gipuzkoa and Navarre and the fact that the Diocese of Pamplona owned most of the lands of Gipuzkoa, resulted in a valuable artistic exchange between these two territories. In the field of silversmith´s craft this exchange became more noticeable during the baroque ages. This fluent relatioship caused the exchanged of both silverware and silversmiths as it is proved in preseved documents. Such documents tell us that churches os Gipuzkoa commisioned silversmiths of Pamplona the design of works of art. Among all is worth highlighting the design of two jewels by a master of Pamplona for a noble of Gipuzkoa. However the ups and downs of the history have caused that only a limited...
