El “Palacio del Gobernador” de Estella: aportaciones sobre las costumbres heráldicas en Navarra a comienzos del siglo XVI
Abstract
Juan de Echávarri and Larrain (c. 1554-=1624), perpetual merino of the city and merindad of Estella, baron of Purroy (Zaragoza) since 1609, raised in the apex of his career a new familiar house, the "house of the Echavarris", in la Rúa street of Estella between 1608 and 1613.
This work is dedicated to analyze, from an emblematic perspective, the heraldic and paraheraldic elements contained in this building because they are a sample of the moment’s heraldic practice and the use of these emblems to expose his trajectory and his lineage’s made by his owner Juan de Echávarri.
