Pintura contemporánea en Navarra. Historiografía 1995-2005

Abstract

The historiography of painting in Navarra has made great progress since this author concluded that what was known about contemporary art in our Community was  “fragmentary, anecdotal and not excessively thorough” at the III General Congress of the History of Navarra (1994). Such progress is particularly true as concerns local  production, though the field open to research remains great. Monographic books and comparative studies are still few and far between, despite the fact that the first historical summaries are now seeing the light of day. The subjects on which research is performed should be varied and tinged with subjectivity.
