De Evreux a Olite: La condesa de Foix y el viaje de regreso a Francia (1373-1374)
Abstract
In the Register of the Accounts Section studied here, it is possible to appreciate the detailed report about the trip made by Agnes de Evreux, Countess of Foix, when she returns to Navarra accompanied by an important entourage (about 90 people) after the death of her sister-in-law Jane, Queen of Navarra. The chosen route –the old Rodano waterway- the guides, vessels, lodgings, supplies and special care offered to the cavalry are described in a clear, precise way. This allows us to thoroughly appreciate the everyday life during a trip in that period.
The document is conserved in the form of a 28-page manuscript written in French, owing to the staff accompanying Carlos II.
