Abstract
Following the monetary parenthesis of the civil war and its aftermath, the monarchs of the house of Foix Albret attempted to remedy the depreciation that arose as a result of the frequent and harsh changes to the law and weight of coins put into circulation. As for the issue of new silver coins (four in 1481, two in 1478 and three in 1495), royal minting rights were administered by the guards at the workshops located in the capital of the kingdom and, above all, the guard at “Torre del Rey”.
