Abstract
The First World War and the Annual disaster demonstrated the need for a military training ground for Captains and Colonels. After a meeting of the Commission of the Mixed Board of the Central School of Marksmanship of the Army held in Pamplona, the Pamplona district, along with Soria and Zaragoza, became one of the three camps under consideration. Pamplona and district were finally ruled out due to the impossibility of housing all of the livestock necessary in order to carry out manoeuvres. In the end, none of the three candidates was chosen.
